Topic: Do Not Forget His Benefits
Scripture: “Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits.” Psalm 103:2
One of the challenges of man is the ability to forget so quickly the benefits of God. Many times, you get overwhelmed and find yourself asking where God is because of what you’re facing. However, the Psalmist here takes time to remind you of the goodness of God- things that you have enjoyed and you can testify to.
Today, I have come to challenge you to keep His benefits in view. No matter the challenge, don’t take His benefits for granted. Take time to remind yourself of the great things He has done for you. Go beyond the general things listed in this Psalm. Think of where He has brought you from. Think about your personal testimonies, the things He did for your family and the times He came through for you suddenly, even though you did not deserve it.
I know that life throws some blows that make you stagger, but remember how He prevented you from falling. Remember how He picked you up from the miry clay and set your feet on the rock to stay. It has been rightly said that if you can think, you can thank.
Yes, you may not have actualized all the dreams you had at the beginning of the year, but touch yourself, you are still around. You might have suffered some losses but you’re still standing. Beloved, be deliberate about praising God.
If you don’t know what to say, just read out scriptures for today out loud 10 times and I can guarantee you that you will feel better. You may not feel like singing, go to YouTube, find a song of praise and just leave it playing. You will discover suddenly that you will begin to sing His praise. You may feel down, but beloved, you are not out. Take on the garment of praise. Praise Him for who He is and when praises go up, blessings come down. Praise God today and see your spirit lifted in a way you did not expect.
