Topic: The Benefits of Waiting on The Lord
SCRIPTURE: In that day shall the LORD of hosts be for a crown of glory, and for a diadem of beauty, unto the residue of his people, And for a spirit of judgment to him that sitteth in judgment, and for strength to them that turn the battle to the gate. Isaiah 28:5-6
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: It is not possible to approach God and not encounter glory.
Expectation has been confirmed to be a major determinant of experience. Expectation also determines manifestation. What a person expects determines what he experiences.
So, today we shall be looking at four things that we expect from the Lord when we wait on Him in prayer and fasting.
1. A crown of glory.
It is not possible to approach God and not encounter glory. Moses waited on the Lord and the glory landed on him; there was glory saturation on his face (Exodus 34:29).Glory is the manifest presence of God; it is the answer to shame and reproach.
2. The diadem of beauty.
God beautifies people who spend time with Him (Psalm 50:2).You cannot escape beauty when you wait on God in Zion.
3. The Spirit of judgment.
When we come before God, we connect with the mantle of Judgment to deal with enemy altars, the powers of darkness and the forces of hell. It was that Spirit of judgment that Elijah had in 1 Kings 17:1. He said, ‘Before God whom I stand…’ and released judgment.
4. Strength for the battle.
Many people have been victims of diverse battles in life – family battles, ancestral battles, generational battles, etc. And if you are a victim of battle, it is because your strength is not enough (Proverbs 24:10). You gain strength by waiting on the Lord (Isaiah 40:31).
Beloved, I believe as you wait on the Lord and seek Him with all your heart (Jeremiah 29:13), you shall find Him. And these four expectations shall be your portion in Jesus’ Name.
Remember this: It is not possible to approach God and not encounter glory.
