Opening Prayer: Dear Lord, make me more like you through the power of your word as I meditate on it.
Scripture: Proverbs 31:10-31

• Is there any example for me to follow or not to follow?
• What is God revealing to me in this passage?
This passage x-rays the good moral qualities and behaviour of a godly woman amidst ungodly and corrupt society, effectively capturing the essence of womanhood in a family setting as originally intended by God (Genesis 2:18).
However, since the fall in Eden, womanhood and matrimony have generally drifted from the glorious pattern established by God, and many homes are in pains for want of peace, harmony, and joyful living; and hence the lament in v.10.
Outline some of the sterling qualities of a virtuous woman as: (a) Wife (vs,10-12,23). (b) Homemaker and Entrepreneur (vs.13-19,21,27). (c) In hospitality and comportment (vs.20,25,26,31) and (d) Mother (v.28). In addition, she is known for her generosity, especially to God’s servants. Such were the women who provided for Elijah (1 Kings 17:7-16) and Elisha (2 Kings 4:8-37) and others who ministered to Christ (Luke 8:1-3) and the Apostles (Romans 16:11)
There is ‘no gainsaying’ that any woman who is an embodiment of these qualities is, indeed a ‘favour from God’ to her husband (12:4; 18: 22; 19:14)
Rare as it may be to find, there are many virtuous and capable women in the world (v.29), but it requires a godly man to appreciate, sustain and even enhance these qualities in his wife (v.31).

• Lord, help us to build our family on your sure foundation.
• Thank God for the blood of Jesus that was shed for our salvation and total deliverance.
