16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another [a]Helper, that He may abide with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.
19 “A little while longer and the world will see Me no more, but you will see Me. Because I live, you will live also. 20 At that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you. 21 He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and [b]manifest Myself to him.”
The Holy Spirit is the Promise of the Father. He is God’s Divine Executive Agent in the world. The Lord made the purpose of the Holy Spirit in the lives of Christians and His Church clear: He will abide with you forever. He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that Jesus taught you (John 14:16-17, 26).
The Lord called the Holy Spirit another Helper, the Spirit of Truth, the Comforter. The Holy Spirit is also your Senior Partner. In a partnership, the senior partner is at the top while the junior partner is below him and subservient to him. Though the senior partner leads and makes decisions, they both work towards achieving success in their vision or project.
The Holy Spirit is your Senior Partner when He is the Mentor and you are His mentee; He is the Master and you are His servant; He is your Teacher and you are His student; He is your Leader and you are His follower. John the Baptist declared his relationship with Jesus by saying, “He must increase and I must decrease.”
The Holy Spirit must increase and you must decrease; your desire must be to be loyal to Him always and to magnify Him. Furthermore, for the Holy Spirit to be your Senior Partner, you must depend absolutely on Him to live a holy life and please God in all your ways.
You must establish consistent intimacy and fellowship with Him. You must also let Him direct your life and get His leading or guidance on all matters before you make a decision or act. You must do the work of God in the power of the Holy Spirit, rather than in the flesh. You must submit to His leadership, obey His guidance and instructions as well as follow His promptings at all times.
Beloved, as someone put it, the rate at which you succeed in life as well as the impact your life makes in time and eternity is a direct function of how much you yield yourself to the Holy Spirit. I strongly advise you to make Him your senior partner today!
PRAYER POINTS
MORNING
1. I surrender to the leadership of the Holy Spirit, in the name of Jesus.
2. Anything hindering the flow and operations of the Holy Spirit in my life, die, in the name of Jesus.
3. The Holy Spirit will not depart from me, in the name of Jesus.
EVENING
4. I declare that the Holy Spirit is my Helper, in the name of Jesus.
5. I declare that the Holy Spirit is my Spiritual Dynamo, in the name of Jesus.
6. I declare that the Holy Spirit is my Comforter, in the name of Jesus.
7. Holy Spirit, the Custodian of the anointing, anoint me today, in the name of Jesus.
