Another benefit of fasting is that God can use it to tum around stubborn situations. He will personally intervene as He did in today’s Fire Scripture. Daniel was fasting for twenty-one days to seek an answer to why the captivity of the Israelites was prolonged. As he did not receive an answer on time, he continued in fasting until God sent intervention through another angel to bring him answers to his prayers.
Daniel was visited by a heavenly being, an angel, since the messenger talked about being opposed by the prince of the Persian kingdom (a demon) and needing help from Michael, one of God’s chief angels. The demon withstood Daniel for twenty-one days, but God intervened at last. Every stubborn situation can be dealt with by fasting. The benefit there is that you will become victorious like Daniel.
Dearly beloved, fasting without ceasing is victory and breakthrough unlimited. Thank God for Daniel’s resilience. He did not give up when answers were not forthcoming early in the programme, but he continued. A lot of stubborn problems could have been taken care of in the life of the children of God, but they give up easily.
Stubborn problems require stubborn faith, prayer and fasting. I remember the story of that brother whose friend intentionally initiated him into ROF (Reformed Ogboni Fratemity) but he was not conscious of it. The friend forced him to share a kola nut with him and they both ate it. Since then, they began to call him for meetings and other stuff.
He said, “I am not a part of you.” They said, “You are,” and because he refused, they put him into serious trouble that would have ruined his life. That was how he ran to the mountain and did one hundred and twenty days of white fasting. When they discovered that he had become too hot for them to handle, they left him alone.
May God fight for you, in the name of Jesus.
