TOPIC: Mystery And Blessing Of Dedication (VI)

MEMORY VERSE: Job 1:10  Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTES: To be dedicated to God is to be defended by God. Commitment to the course of the Kingdom attracts the immunity of the Kingdom.

PROPHETIC WORD FOR TODAY: I decree that throughout this year and beyond, God’s hedge of fire shall be round about you and His glory shall shine upon your life, in the name of Jesus.

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Daniel 6:19-22

19 Then the king arose very early in the morning, and went in haste unto the den of lions.

20 And when he came to the den, he cried with a lamentable voice unto Daniel: and the king spake and said to Daniel, O Daniel, servant of the living God, is thy God, whom thou servest continually, able to deliver thee from the lions?

21 Then said Daniel unto the king, O king, live for ever.

22 My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions’ mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt.

The privilege of access to divine defence is another benefit of dedication that every committed believer should enjoy (Gen. 20:1-3Job 1:10Num. 12:7-1016:41-45Dan. 6:19-22). To enjoy divine defence is to have God as awall or hedge around you, as your Rock, Shield, Fortress, Refuge, Buckler, and Strong Tower. As long as God kept His hedge around Job intact and remained His defence, the devil could not afflict him (Job 1:10). Elisha knew that God was his defence.

He saw the angels and the chariots of fire surrounding and protecting him and told his servant, “…They that be with us are more than they that be with them” (2 Kings 6:16). Abraham had access to divine defence. God went to Abimelech in a dream and told him that he would die if he took Sarah for a wife because she is Abraham’s wife. Also, God was Moses’ defence because he was totally dedicated to Him (Num. 12:7-1016:41-45).

The Bible gives an interesting account of the conspiracy that arose against the man of God called Daniel (Dan. 6:19-22). His offence was that he violated the king’s decree that anyone who made petition to any God or man for thirty days except the king would be cast into the den of a lion.

The conspirators found Daniel praying to His God, reported him to the king and he was thrown into the den of lions. Daniel was a man of total dedication and faithfulness to God. God defended him and the lions could not hurt him. Daniel 6:21-22 reads, “Then said Daniel unto the king, O king, live forever. My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions’ mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt.

Beloved, your dedication to God and His Kingdom as well as your right standing will make God a hedge of fire and defence round about you. Do not be afraid for your life if you are already afraid of God. God will take care of your future and deal with your enemies, in the name of Jesus (Isaiah 8:12-14, 18).
