FIRE SCRIPTURE: Mark 11:23-26
23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.

26 But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.

MFM Daily Devotional 5 October 2024 MESSAGE

You will never consistently grasp and tap into the enormity of faith and miracles if you are governed by your five physical senses rather than faith in God’s promises. Jesus speaking of the last days said, “Men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken” (Luke 21:26).

If you do not walk by faith, you will be focused on the natural realm and negative things around you. That will in turn give place to fear which activates demonic powers. 2 Timothy 1:7 says, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” Stay focused on Jesus and His Word. That will help you walk in faith.

In Verse 23 Jesus told us to speak to the mountain (problem) before us and it will be removed. He did not tell us to ignore the mountain or the problem. We must acknowledge it and confront it with faith in Him. It is interesting that in this verse Jesus repeatedly said we will have what we say.

If we desire to walk in faith, then we need to understand the power of our words or tongue. Proverbs 18:21 says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.” Often we speak words of death and end up with what we speak because we do not heed Jesus’ words. We have what we say but do not want what we have.

Many Christians stop reading at verse 24, not realizing that verses 25 and 26 are keys to walking and living by faith as well. If we walk in unforgiveness, or offense, or have a prideful and critical attitude, we can literally short-circuit our faith and our miracle.  It is also a breeding ground for unbelief.

Fear and unbelief are terrible twin brothers and are contrary to faith; you must guide your mind against them. In the same vein, unforgiveness, anger and bitterness can also be breeding ground for diseases like cancer and arthritis because they release toxins into the body and make it more susceptible to illnesses. You will not short-circuit your faith, in Jesus’ name.
