MFM Daily Devotional 4 October 2022 OUTLINE

Life is all about choices and decisions. That is why, as a believer, you should ensure that every decision you make in life is guided by God and His word. We will all face the consequences of the choices we make in life and eternity.

Are you making God-led and right choices? The decisions of Ruth and Orpah present a picture of what is involved in true conversion. They also prove that there are consequences attached to our decisions in life.

The sojourn of Ruth, Orpah and Naomi, their mother-in-law in the land of Moab had been a very painful experience. As they were leaving Moab, Orpah drew back to end her days in heathen idolatry. Ruth moved on to have her name inscribed in the divine record.

MFM 70 Days Fasting And Prayer 4 October 2022 Day 8 Prayer Points

Two decisions made by two persons and two rewards or results. I pray that every decision you make will bring you joy and fulfilment in life and eternity, in the name of Jesus. Ruth took a leap of faith, chose to go with God and never regretted it. On the other hand, Orpah who chose not to go with God, went into oblivion: no one ever heard of her again!

Another Bible character who failed to take the leap of faith was King Agrippa. Though he decided to hear Paul’s message and had an opportunity to make a decision to serve the living God, he did otherwise. The king said to Paul, “Almost thou persuasest me to be a Christian.” It shows that it was King Agrippa’s decision not to become a Christian.

Apostle Paul had shared the gospel with him and had revealed the love of God to him, but he chose not to be converted. What a pity! It is really sad that some will travel with God’s people, yet fail to take that “leap of faith” and entrust all to the Saviour.

Beloved, everyday, new opportunities present themselves for us to either become believers or get more intimate with God and follow Him more dearly. Do not scuttle the opportunity as Orpah and Agrippa did theirs. Take that leap of faith like Ruth and you will be highly blessed, in the name of Jesus, Amen.
