The Corinthian spirit has swallowed up many Christians today, making them perpetual prisoners of immaturity. And whosoever is stuck in the rut of immaturity shall remain a carnal Christian. Who is a carnal Christian? A carnal Christian is a person who claims to be born again, yet there is no thorough Conversion, no visible positive change or transformation of the inner life. He is a Christian, yet the old life is still ruling him. He is still doing the old unprofitable things he used to do, still going to old questionable places he used to go, and still cringing to old sinful partners.

Who are these prisoners of immaturity? They are the Christians who are not growing at all. They can even be Pastors, Teachers of the Word, Bishops, Apostles, Prophets, Choristers, Church workers, and Ministers with many years of ministerial experience. They can even be part of the top-most leadership of their church organization yet they are irritating spiritual babes.

They bluntly refuse to grow into maturity. They are perpetual prisoners of immaturity. They are like the Corinthian Christians who are highly endowed with spiritual gifts without commensurate inner growth. How many years have you been born again? If you have been genuinely born again for at least two months, then the Lord is expecting you to have grown considerably.

Those who are prisoners of immaturity remain in the state of spiritual infant for a prolonged period of time. They easily get offended, bear grudges, keep malice, and are not easily treated. They are unforgiving, always causing trouble, and very quarrelsome, They handle the work of God with levity and do It deceitfully.

They are not growing in the spirit. They are devoid of the fruit of the Spirit. They refuse to conform to the image of Christ, etc. You need to understand, beloved that the life of a Christian manifests the beauty of the glory of God as he grows into maturity. Are you a prisoner of immaturity? Cry to God now to right every wrong in your life.

1. O Lord, overhaul my life by fire, in the name of Jesus.

4. O Lord, by Your Finger of Fire, right every wrong in my life in the name of Jesus.
5. I reject spiritual powerlessness, in the name of Jesus.
6. I move from weakness to power, in the name of Jesus.
