MFM Daily Devotional 30 May 2023 MESSAGE
Mature Christians make God’s word their first and final authority. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is the word of God. By Him were all things made and without Him was not anything made that was made. As a believer, Jesus Christ should be your all in all and your sufficiency in all circumstances. He should be your Source for all things and at all times. The Bible affirms that if all the miracles and wonders that Jesus performed were to be recorded, the whole world would not be big enough to contain them. He is the God of all possibilities and nothing is too hard for Him to do.
Beloved, where do you turn when you need help and want solution to life’s problems? Do you go to your relatives, friends, drugs, alcohol, entertainment or social media? True succour and lasting solution cannot be found in any of these; the only true source of genuine solution and lasting peace is Jesus Christ, the word of God. That is why the Bible admonishes us not to trust in the arm of the flesh but to put our confidence in the Lord.
God’s word also counsels us to trust the Lord with all our hearts and not lean on our own understanding, but to acknowledge Him in all our ways and He will direct our paths. I encourage you to always look into the word of God for direction and solution; you will find unalloyed peace and joy in all situations and at all times.
If you are tempted, then read 1 Corinthians 10:13. If you are in grief, then read 2 Corinthians 4:17-18. If you are under tribulation, then meditate on Psalm 46. If you are ill, then think about Psalm 41:3-4. If you are healthy, then think about Psalm 103 and James 5:13b. If you are gifted, then think about Jeremiah 9:23-24. If you are poor, then find comfort in Proverbs 28:6. If you are lonely, then meditate on Deuteronomy 31:6. If you are near death, then find comfort in Psalm 23:4. But in all circumstances, study Isaiah 26:4 and Hebrews 12:1-3.
