FIRE SCRIPTURE: Acts 16:25-34
²⁵ And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.

²⁶ And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.

²⁷ And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled.

²⁸ But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here.

²⁹ Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas,

³⁰ And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?

³¹ And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

³² And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house.

³³ And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway.

³⁴ And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house.

After casting out the spirit of divination from a damsel, Paul and Silas got into trouble with the people. They were mercilessly beaten and cast into the innermost part of the prison with their feet chained down. Under normal circumstances, they should have been exhausted from the riotous activities of the day coupled with the beatings they received.

Naturally, one would expect them to either be fast asleep like Peter or to be in a discouraged mood sulking and angry with God for allowing them go through such ordeals despite working for Him. But that was not the case with Paul and Silas. Rather, they started a revival that brought down an earthquake of deliverance, the prison’s foundations were shaken, all the doors were opened and everyone’s bands were loosed. This subsequently led to the conversion of the jailer and his entire household.

Are you a pastor, evangelist, minister, worker, or regular believer? You are zealous for God’s work and you do it tirelessly to the best of your human ability. Rather than receive commendation, all you get is rebuke, persecution and chastisement and you are beginning to wonder if it’s worth going on. That’s the exact corner the devil wants to box you into. It’s up to you to say ’No.’

Like Paul and Silas, if only you can keep up a positive attitude, God will certainly show up for you to bring something glorious out of your seemingly negative predicament and it will all end in praise! God is still in the business of helping, saving and vindicating His people who call on Him when trouble comes to them. He did not forsake Daniel who kept praying to Him despite the earthly king’s order. He did not abandon Meshack, Shadrack and Abednego who were thrown into the fiery furnace for not bowing down to the king’s golden image. Call upon Him with unwavering faith when trouble comes. He will save you, in Jesus’ name.

1. I silence every silencer of my life and calling, in the name of Jesus.
2. Fresh power and fire of God for exploits, overshadow my life, in the name of Jesus.
3. Miracle that will shock my enemies and surprise my friends, manifest in my life, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING:
4. Anointing of the overcomer, fall upon my life, in the name of Jesus.
5. Before those asking where is my God, O God, arise and manifest Your power, in the name of Jesus.
6. Power of God to deliver to the uttermost, my life is available, deliver me totally, in the name of Jesus.
7. O God, arise and make me a divine spectacle, in the name of Jesus.
