TOPIC: God Our Hope

Fire Scripture: Romans 8:24-25

24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?

25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.

MFM Daily Devotional 23 July 2021 Friday Outline

Hope is the belief or expectation that what you wish for will happen. It is a virtuous desire for a future good. Therefore hope is futuristic. Biblical hope is based on deep assurance and firm confidence about future things. Of course, these are things based on God’s promises as revealed to us through His word.

Biblical hope in God cannot be separated from firm faith and complete trust in Him. The Bible makes us to understand that our hope in God is an anchor that keeps us steady through the circumstances of life. Beloved, when your hope is in God, it means that you trust and stand on His truth and faithfulness that never fail. Our hope is not in man or in the world system.

God is the only hope of humanity. He alone has the power to do anything and everything. When the whole world was in darkness, God brought light. When man was wallowing in sin and destruction, He sent His Son for salvation and deliverance. Whatever you are passing through, God can get you out of it if only you trust in Him. The help of man is limited; man can backstab you, deride you, use your problems to mock you and expose your nakedness, but God will remove your shame. “Christ in you the hope of glory” (Col 1:27b).

Look up to Him. The difference between faith and hope is that faith is now; hope is always in the future. And there’s a reason for that. Romans 8:24-25 states, “We were given this hope when we were saved. (If we already have something, we don’t need to hope for it. But if we look forward to something we don’t yet have, we must wait patiently and confidently.)

Hope is that expectancy that keeps our faith alive until what we’re believing for comes. Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness. Both faith and hope should be anchored on Jesus Christ. That is when they will produce the best results. Let your hopes, not your hurts, shape your future.

Memory Verse: Romans 15:13 – Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

Motivational Quote: For the believer, there is hope beyond the grave, because Jesus Christ has opened the door of heaven for us by His death and resurrection.

Prophetic Word: Let the power and ability to navigate through negative situations fall upon you now, in the name of Jesus.

HYMN: Stand Up! Stand Up For Jesus

1. Stand up! stand up for Jesus, Ye soldiers of the Cross!
Lift high His royal banner; It must not suffer loss.
From vict’ry unto vict’ry His army shall He lead,
Till ev’ry foe is vanquished, And Christ is Lord indeed.

2. Stand up! stand up for Jesus! The trumpet call obey;
Forth to the mighty conflict, In this His glorious day;
Ye that are men now serve Him Against unnumbered foes;
Let courage rise with danger, And strength to strength oppose.

3. Stand up! stand up for Jesus! Stand in His strength alone:
The arm of flesh will fail you, Ye dare not trust your own;
Put on the gospel armour, Each piece put on with prayer;
Where duty calls, or danger, Be never wanting there.
