Fire Scripture: Phil. 1:27-30
27 Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;
28 And in nothing terrified by your adversaries: which is to them an evident token of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that of God.
29 For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;
30 Having the same conflict which ye saw in me, and now hear to be in me.

Steadfastness is a mark of Christian maturity. It shows that a believer is no more a child tossed to and fro and carried away with every wind of doctrine, by sleight of men as well as cunning craftiness and deceit (Eph. 4:14). Believers who will overcome in the last days are those who are addicted to God’s word. They hear, read and do the word. They are not hearers only. No one can be truly steadfast in Christ who does not build his or her life on the solid rock which is the word of God.
This is because other grounds outside God’s word are sinking sand! The word of God will make your faith in God unwavering, steady and rock-like. There have been many gullible Christians who fell into the trap of satan’s agents, false teachers and false prophets. The reason for their plight is ignorance or naivety. When a Christian is ignorant of God’s word or God’s word in him or her is shallow, the enemy will tempt and deceive him or her. The devil did it to Eve and tried it with Jesus.
He failed because Jesus had the word and is the word. Some people have been led to error by false teachers and into great trouble by wolves in sheep clothing who tell them to do unscriptural things like bathing for another person’s wife by the opposite sex in the sea, bring strands of hair from their body for healing or deliverance purpose. All such unscriptural lies are possible because the victims themselves are not grounded in God’s word and steadfast in their walk with Him.
That is why Apostle Peter’s warning should be heeded by all. He said, “ Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness” (2 Peter 3:17). Beloved, being steadfast is to stand fast in one spirit with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel. I pray that heaven will bestow the grace to stand steadfast on you now and always, in the name of Jesus.
MEMORY VERSE: 2 Peter 3:17 – Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.
MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE: The root of steadfastness is in consecration to God.
PROPHETIC WORD: As the Lord lives, the spirit of compromise, backsliding and apostasy shall not locate you, in the name of Jesus.

MORNING
1. My Father, move me to the point of Christian maturity, in the name of Jesus.
2. I overcome every character defect by the power in the blood of Jesus, in the name of Jesus.
3. The grace of God upon my life shall not be wasted, in the name of Jesus.
EVENING
4. I will not fall for satan’s tricks and deceits, in the name of Jesus.
5. O God, expose and stop false teachings, in the name of Jesus.
6. I shall not be led away by the error of the wicked, in the name of Jesus.
7. I shall not fall from my steadfastness, in the name of Jesus.
