MFM Daily Devotional 23 February 2022 MESSAGE

In John 14:1-4, our Fire Scripture for today, Jesus promised that He would go to the Father and prepare a mansion for us (believers). The place called heaven has no darkness, pain or sorrow. The Bible affirms that no unclean thing shall enter or be found there (Isaiah 35:8). For you to inherit the promise and the mansion that Jesus has gone to prepare, you must live a holy life.

The Bible says, “Examine yourself to know if you are still in faith” (2 Corinthians 13:5). Someone also said that an unexamined life is not worth living. Holiness is the essential condition for one to enter heaven. Are you holy? Holiness relates to your spiritual and physical lives. Your thoughts must be holy and pure. Your speech must be godly and in conformity with the Bible. Your deeds and actions must be Christlike.

As our memory verse says, you must cleanse yourself of the filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. You must make a clean break from all forms of ungodly compromise.

Do not say, “After all, I am only going to do it once. It is only today and I won’t do it again.” Don’t let the devil deceive you. Adam and Eve fell once and they lost their dominion, inheritance as well as fellowship with God and paradise. The Bible says that we are debtors not to the flesh.

The flesh is the root cause of sin in man. That is why I have always said that the flesh must die. It is the Holy Spirit in you that will give you the grace to mortify the flesh. How can you mortify the flesh?

First, you should continually resist the desires of the flesh. Refuse to lend your eyes, ears, mind and body to sin.

Second, study the Word of God daily, meditate on it, memorise it and let it renew your mind. The Word of God has the power to sanctify your body, soul and spirit.
Third, you must be in the spirit daily. Live the life of consecration, presenting your body as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, and pray without ceasing.
