John Tells About This Book
1 This is a revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must happen soon. And Christ sent his angel to show it to his servant John,
2 who has told everything he saw. It is the truth that Jesus Christ told him; it is the message from God.
3 Great blessings belong to the person who reads the words of this message from God and to those who hear this message and do what is written in it. There is not much time left.
John Writes to the Churches
4 From John,
To the seven churches in the province of Asia:
Grace and peace to you from the one who is, who always was, and who is coming; and from the seven spirits before his throne;
5 and from Jesus Christ. Jesus is the faithful witness. He is first among all who will be raised from death. He is the ruler of the kings of the earth.
Jesus is the one who loves us and has made us free from our sins with his blood sacrifice.
6 He made us his kingdom and priests who serve God his Father. To Jesus be glory and power forever and ever! Amen.
MFM Daily Devotional 18 November 2022 Message:
The wonders of the blood of Jesus cannot be over-emphasised. By virtue of this precious blood, a believer is able to come close to God. Sin distances man from God’s presence, grace and blessing. However, the shed blood of Jesus has nigh-making power- that is, the power to draw us close to God. Ephesians 2:13 says, “But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.”
Another wonderful thing that the blood of Jesus does is that it cleanses believers. The Bible admonishes us to distance ourselves from the uncleanness of the spirit, soul and body. We are also to constantly apply the cleansing blood of Jesus to our lives. 1 John 1:7 says, “But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.”

The same blood of Jesus has washing and freeing power. Hence, in Revelation 1:5-6, Jesus testified that believers are clean. He said, “…and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.”
Before we were saved, sin brought us under the wrath and judgement of God. But when the blood of Jesus forgave and saved us, our judgement was satisfied and we have since been at peace with God. “But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.” (Isaiah 53:5).
Beloved, we are no longer strangers to the covenant of promise. We now have hope; we have a great God and are now accepted in the beloved. Hence, the Bible says, “…that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ” (Ephesians 2:12-13).
