Topic: Lessons From The Life of Bartimaeus (II)

MEMORY VERSE: Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. –1 Peter 2:10

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTES: Nothing paralyses a life like an attitude that things can never change. You need to remind yourself that God can change things.

PROPHETIC WORD FOR TODAY: I decree that the One that can reverse the Irreversible and the Unchangeable changer will change your life for good, in the name of Jesus.

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Luke 18:35-43

The third lesson we can leam from the lite of Bartimaeus is that he was important. He did not give up or stop crying to Jesus when he was told to keep quiet. He was desperate and opportunity wasters could not stop him. Are you someone who easily gives up at the slightest opposition or discouragement? l advise you to take a new leaf today.

The Syrophoenician woman refused to be discouraged when Jesus said that He would not give the children’s bread to dogs; neither did the disciples’ actions bother her. If she had gotten angry, she would have missed the opportunity to get deliverance for her child.

The Bible says that, when Bartimaeus was rebuked and told to hold his peace, he cried so much more. A closed mouth is a closed destiny. An English proverb says that the squeaky hinge gets the grease, Any power that wants to shut your mouth from praying shall die, in the name of Jesus.

Fourth, Bartimaeus sought mercy from Jesus. Please note that Jesus did not ask Bartimaeus how he became blind, neither did He mention what Bartimaeus or his parents might have done wrong. Jesus was mercy personified. Mercy spares you the punishment or judgement you deserve for a wrong you have done. It triumphs over Judgement. God does not ignore the cry for mercy. That is why Jesus stood still, sent for Bartimaeus and restored his sight. As you cry for mercy today, Jesus, the same yesterday, today and forever, will grant you the miracle you have been praying for, in Jesus’ name.

There is an important principle in the Kingdom of God, which I would like you to follow positively and earn its gains. It says that what you sow is what you will reap. Therefore, strongly encourage you to show mercy to others and reap God’s mercy abundantly. Sow love and reap love; sow generosity and reap the same. I decree that the heaven of great mercy and grace will open for you, in the name of Jesus.
