MFM DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR MONDAY 14TH JUNE 2021 WRITTEN BY PASTOR D.K OLUKOYA
TOPIC: HEALING FROM THE WOUNDS OF SELF-GUILT (III)
Fire Scripture: Gal.5:16-25
MFM DAILY DEVOTIONAL OUTLINE:
Self-guilt is a selfish response to the situation that troubles your mind. It is an unprofitable burden you cannot bear and do not need to entertain. It changes nothing; rather it worsens it! As a child of God, the first place to run to for help when trouble comes is the presence of the Lord (Ps.46:1; Prov. 18:10). God has promised to deliver us from all evil, heal our wounds and restore us (Jer.30:17-18).
When you keep to yourself and remain locked up, you shut out divine assistance. In this instance, the devil will do everything possible to build his stronghold in your mind and also establish his authority over your life. If the Holy Spirit is in charge of your life, why do you judge and condemn yourself when Christ has not? Reject the lie of the devil; embrace the law of the spirit of life through which Christ has set us free from all sins and death.
This calls for total surrender and self-sacrifice, giving up your carnal nature and selfish lusts to embrace the fullness of Christ. Zaccheus met with Christ and genuinely repented of his old ways. It appeared humanly difficult, yet he gave up all selfish desires to embrace Jesus, without any guilt attached. He lost the world but gained eternity through Christ Jesus (Luke 19:1-10). When Jesus sets you free, no situation can hold you in bondage (John 8:32, 36).
Embrace the forgiveness that we have received through His blood and the power of redemption (Col 1: 12-14). Forgive yourself! What led you into self-guilt? Is it the loss of a loved one, abuses, a broken relationship or bankruptcy? Get ready to do away with all regrets. Realise that you are not created to be perfect. Rather, receive grace to be humble enough to keep learning before the Lord, and patience to keep growing.
Look up to God instead of looking inwards (Heb.12:2). You don’t have an answer to the situation but God does. Let Him help you. Self-guilt will land you in a bigger trouble such as depression, psychosis and other strange or terminal sicknesses; worst still, hell fire. Why lose your soul and eternity in heaven for not being wise? Self-guilt is a foolish act, fueled by the devil to immobilise you and distort your vision.
Beloved, do everything possible to walk in the Spirit and not fulfil the lusts of the flesh (Gal.5: 24-25). God will heal and keep you from all evil, in Jesus’ name.
Memory Verse: Gal.5:1 – Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
Motivational Quote: The weight of self-guilt hinders you from growing healthy and moving forward in all aspects of life
Prophetic Word: Every trap of the devil to disconnect you from the divine source and stop your progress is set on fire now, in the mighty name of Jesus.
HYMN: Victory In Jesus
1. I heard an old, old story, How a Saviour came from glory,
How He gave His life on Calvary To save a wretch like me;
I heard about His groaning, Of His precious blood’s atoning,
Then I repented of my sins And won the victory.
Chorus:
O victory in Jesus, My Saviour, for ever,
He sought me and bought me With His redeeming blood;
He loved me ere I knew Him And all my love is due Him,
He plunged me to Victory, Beneath the cleaning flood.
2. I heard about His healing, Of His cleansing pow’r revealing,
How He made the lame to walk again And caused the blind to see;
And then I cried “Dear Jesus, Come and heal my broken spirit,”
And somehow Jesus came an bro’t To me the victory.
