TOPIC: The Spirit of Excellence
FIRE SCRIPTURE: Isaiah 11:1-9
11 And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:
2 And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord;
3 And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the Lord: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears:
4 But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth: with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.
5 And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.
6 The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.
7 And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.
8 And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice’ den.
9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.

Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm.

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTES: Excellence is the hallmark of champions in God’s Kingdom.
PROPHETIC WORD FOR TODAY: Henceforth, the spirit of excellence and wisdom shall rest upon you, in the name of Jesus.

Isaiah 11:2 mentions the seven spirits of the Lord: the spirit of the Lord, wisdom, understanding, counsel, might, knowledge and the fear of the Lord. When the seven spirits of Lord is operating in your life, excellence will manifest in all you do.
The Spirit of the Lord upon you gives you the anointing to do the works and will of the Lord at all times. The spirit of wisdom is a must if you want to rule as a sheep in the midst of wolves. David behaved himself wisely and he could not be overcome by King Saul. The Bible commands us to get wisdom (Proverbs 4.7).

The spirit of understanding will aid you to rightly interpret information. Life is a mystery and Jesus taught us a lot of things through parables. If you lack understanding, you would not be able to use the divine information given to you. The spirit of counsel gives you direction and helps you make the right choice. Proverbs 11:14 says, “Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counselors there is safety.”
The spirit of might is the divine strength to keep on in the midst of distress and persecutions. Ephesians 3:16 affirms, “That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man…”
The Spirit of knowledge is important for the believer because ignorance is a killer. What you know will save you from a world of troubles. For example, when you know your enemy, you will know how to behave around him but if you do not know, he will give you poison to eat and you will eat it and land in the grave.
The spirit fear of the Lord delivers you from sin. The fear of the Lord empowers you to put God first in all things. You would want to confirm and be very sure you are not offending God before taking any step. Daniel was the perfect example of a man with an excellent spirit. The gods of Babylon called him a god because his operations were beyond them. The same was on Jesus Christ. Pray these seven spirits into your life. You will beat the best and be the best.

MORNING
1. O Lord, empty me of every unclean spirit and fill me with Your seven spirits, in the name of Jesus.
2. Spirit of the Lord, rest upon me, in the name of Jesus.
3. Spirit of wisdom and understanding, rest upon me, in the name of Jesus.
EVENING
4. Spirit of counsel and might, rest upon me, in the name of Jesus.
5. Spirit of knowledge, rest upon me, in the name of Jesus.
6. Spirit of the fear of the Lord, rest upon me, in the name of Jesus.
7. O Lord, help me not to lose Your seven spirits, in the name of Jesus.
