TOPIC: The Wonders of Rods (III)
FIRE SCRIPTURE: Numbers 17:1-10
17 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and take of every one of them a rod according to the house of their fathers, of all their princes according to the house of their fathers twelve rods: write thou every man’s name upon his rod.
3 And thou shalt write Aaron’s name upon the rod of Levi: for one rod shall be for the head of the house of their fathers.
4 And thou shalt lay them up in the tabernacle of the congregation before the testimony, where I will meet with you.
5 And it shall come to pass, that the man’s rod, whom I shall choose, shall blossom: and I will make to cease from me the murmurings of the children of Israel, whereby they murmur against you.
6 And Moses spake unto the children of Israel, and every one of their princes gave him a rod apiece, for each prince one, according to their fathers’ houses, even twelve rods: and the rod of Aaron was among their rods.
7 And Moses laid up the rods before the Lord in the tabernacle of witness.
8 And it came to pass, that on the morrow Moses went into the tabernacle of witness; and, behold, the rod of Aaron for the house of Levi was budded, and brought forth buds, and bloomed blossoms, and yielded almonds.
9 And Moses brought out all the rods from before the Lord unto all the children of Israel: and they looked, and took every man his rod.
10 And the Lord said unto Moses, Bring Aaron’s rod again before the testimony, to be kept for a token against the rebels; and thou shalt quite take away their murmurings from me, that they die not.

Dearly beloved, you also need the rod of Aaron. So far, you have learned that rods are instruments of power. They are instruments of deliverance. They are instruments of enforcement. They are instruments of miracles, signs and wonders. They are instruments of advancement.
Some situations require the rod of Jacob to deal with and some require the rod of Moses. Yet, some will require the rod of Aaron. What is the rod of Aaron? The incident recorded in today’s fire scripture provides an answer. In Numbers 15, God destroyed the companies of Korah, Datan and Abiram who rebelled against Moses. After this, the congregation still challenged Moses and Aaron. God decided to prove to the congregation that indeed He chose Aaron as His High Priest.

He commanded Moses to collect twelve rods, one from each house of Israel. These rods were laid before the Lord in the tabernacle of witness. On the next day, it was the rod of Aaron from the house of Levi that budded and brought forth buds, and bloomed blossoms and yielded almonds.
Therefore, it is clear that the rod of Aaron is the rod of distinction. It is the rod of positive preference. It is the rod of being set aside for good things. It is the rod of being celebrated. It is also the rod of authority. With the rod of Aaron in your hands, you will become a man or a woman of distinction. You will be set aside for blessing and be the first among equals.
You need to cry out to the Lord that He should place the right rod in your hands. There was only one rod of Moses in the Old Testament, but now every child of God can have the right miracle-working rod in his hand to rise up against turbulent situations. The rod of Elisha did not produce signs and wonders in the hands of Gehazi.
If you want to do wonders with the rod of God, your heart must be completely renewed by His word. You must eschew sin and live in complete obedience.

MORNING
1. My Father, place the rod of Aaron in my hands today, in the name of Jesus.
2. Anointing of favour and distinction, come upon me now, in the name of Jesus.
3. O God, empower me to overcome all oppositions and contentions, in the name of Jesus.
EVENING
4. Powers of my father’s house that do not want me to rise and shine, die, in the name of Jesus.
5. Domestic witchcraft assigned to cage my star, die, in the name of Jesus.
6. Evil territorial powers attacking my glory, somersault and die, in the name of Jesus.
7. My destiny, hear the word of the Lord, receive the power for fulfilment, in the name of Jesus.
