MFM Daily Devotional 10 April 2025 Message

The teaching that God will not punish, judge, and condemn His people at the end of this age when they backslide and fail to repent has no foundation in the Scripture. One of the bitter truths of these last days is that many Christians are in different stages of backsliding. What is backsliding? It is to go back to former sinful ways. Backsliding is to turn back into error. It is to forsake one’s belief about the things of the Kingdom of God.

Backsliding is to lose grip on one’s biblical conviction. It is to draw back from following the Lord. Backsliding is to veer into worldliness. It is the abandonment of spiritual decency and modesty. Backsliding is like the dog that returned to its vomit and like a washed and dressed pig going back to wallow in dirty water.

A backslider in heart and action is the believer who has lost his sense of Sonship and whose fire of zeal has been quenched by the flood of sinful entanglement. Such a believer will be grieving the Holy Spirit continuously unless he repents. Although before the Lord God, there is no excuse or reason tenable for backsliding, many Christians are making excuses for their backslid state, ranging from persecution, oppression, discouragement, financial lack, parental and familial opposition, joblessness, medical challenges, peer pressure, negative influencers, and even the weakness of the flesh. The verdict of the Almighty God is “… if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.”

Then, how do you avoid backsliding? Seek for a genuine encounter with Jesus Christ. Deal with worldly lust in your heart. Willingly yield every area of your life to the control of the Holy Spirit. Love God supremely above every other thing in this world. Set your affection on heavenly things. Become an ardent student of the Bible. Avoid negative associations and pray for more hunger and thirst after God.

MORNING

  1. Every arrow of backsliding fired against my soul, backfire, in the name of Jesus.
  2. Satanic verdict from the pit of hell against my spiritual life, I nullify you with the Blood of Jesus, in the name of Jesus.
  3. Altars of my father’s house raging against my walk with God, scatter by fire, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING

  1. Strong man of my mother’s house pulling me away from the Cross of Jesus, release me and die, in the name of Jesus.
  2. Evil appetite programmed into my life, die, in the name of Jesus.
  3. Holy Ghost fire, saturate my life completely, in the name of Jesus.
  4. Lord Jesus, arise and take Your place permanently in my life.
