TOPIC: Everyone Makes Mistakes
Today’s Scripture: For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.– Romans 3:23 (ESV)
Joyce Meyer Daily Devotional July 2, 2022 MESSAGE
Everyone sins. We all make mistakes and do wrong things, but Jesus has provided for our sins to be forgiven and for us not to be under the burden of condemnation. The Bible says there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (see Romans 8:1).
Recently I did something wrong, and as I talked with the Lord about it, I said, “l’m so
sorry for my mistake, Father,” and He spoke to my heart and said, “Remember, just
because you make a mistake, that doesn’t mean you are a mistake!” Needless to say, that really ministered to me, and I want you to remember the same thing when you sin, fail, or make mistakes.
Just because we fail at something, that doesn’t make us a failure. We are still God’s children, and He loves us just as much as He did before we failed. God meets us where we are and always helps us get to where we should be.
The righteous man falls seven times and yet he rises again, according to God’s Word (see Proverbs 24:16). When we fall, the main thing we need to do is get up again. When we make mistakes, we can learn from them.
When we sin, complete forgiveness for us has already been bought and paid for by the blood of Jesus. Celebrate the truth that God’s mercy is always new and fresh every morning (see Lamentations 3:22-23).
Prayer Starter: Father, I am sorry for all of my sins, and I am grateful for Your complete forgiveness. Thank You for teaching me that even though I make mistakes, I am not a mistake! In Jesus’ name, amen.
