DCLM Daily Manna Wednesday 19 July 2023 MESSAGE
Perhaps one of the most famous retreats in military history was the evacuation of Dunkirk, also known as Operation Dynamo in 1940. Germany invaded France on May 10, 1940, as well as the Low Countries, so Britain sent its British Expeditionary Force to France to help stop the Nazis’ advance. Soon, they were pushed back to the beaches of Dunkirk along with the Belgian and French troops. What Churchill thought would be a rescue of only 20,000 to 30,000 men ended up with 338,000 troops all rescued in nine days. The successful evacuation became a great morale booster that helped Britain fight better in the summer of 1940. France was eventually liberated and the Germans were defeated.
Prophet Isaiah captured the mood and prayers of Israel under a similar dilemma in our text. The prayers and expectations of the afflicted people of God was granted. God shielded, consoled and sustained them until the indignations that came upon them passed away.

Our heavenly Father is a loving and caring God. He sees all the troubles and trials we go through; He is also ready to mediate in our matter if we trust and call upon Him for intervention. He is the best Strategist. The Scripture is replete with instances where God called His beloved children to hide under His protective arms in times of danger.
Before the Antichrist comes, Jesus will take the Church away by rapture to keep His children in safe custody during the tribulation. We also need some break from work to rest, re-strategise and achieve better results in all we do.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
