DCLM Daily Manna 18 March 2025  Message

One Easter Monday, a young boy, in the company of his friends, went to a hill near their church called “Galilee” to search for Jesus everywhere but they could not see Him. They returned dejected and discouraged only to understand a few years later that God is a Spirit and those who worship Him must do so in spirit and in truth.

Our text captures the triumphant entry of Jesus Christ when He rode into Jerusalem on a donkey during the feast of Pentecost. The people took to the street with branches of palm trees crying ‘Hosanna, blessed is the King of Israel!’ The disciples themselves did not understand the spiritual significance of the event. But it happened as it was prophesied in the Old Testament by Zachariah, the prophet.

In this instance of His triumphal entry to Jerusalem, the Pharisees were furious and protested because of His popularity. They failed woefully in their bid to stop His ministry. It shows that those who oppose Christ and you will never prevail. Common people of those days rejoiced and respected Jesus with all they had. Unfortunately, the people who cried Hosanna were the same ones who cried crucify Him a few days after.

The Greeks who were religious proselytes had demanded to see Him by consulting Philip when they saw the miracles and heard about the fame of Jesus. Miracles of healing, deliverance, provision, and promotion are instruments that God uses to draw men to Himself to experience His love, power, and redemption. Knowing and experiencing Jesus Christ in its truest sense can only come through faith in Him, genuine salvation experience, and steadfastness to follow Him all the way. We stand to enjoy the fullness of what Christ can do when we are sincere in our profession of faith, and we pursue deeper experiences of holiness and commitment to follow Him till the end.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Only sincere seekers of Christ experience genuine transformation.
