DCLM Daily Manna Sunday 25 June 2023 MESSAGE

There has been so much talk lately about a new world order. The concept of a new world order emerged from the endless search by world leaders for a better, more peaceful, equitable, prosperous and sustainable world. In this attempt, they have explored diplomatic, economic, military, cultural and technological possibilities. Unfortunately, the world has continued to wallow in increasing crises.

Unlike the elusive humanly conceived new world order, God has an unfailing plan to do away with the present world system and bring in a true new heaven and new earth. As found in today’s text, Apostle John gave a panoramic view of this wonderful transition as revealed to him by God. Here, we see the emergence of new heaven and new earth, the new Jerusalem, the presence and identification of God with the redeemed and their happy eternal state, as well as the doom of the ungodly.

There is no way the human imagination can figure out the nature and beauty of the new world and the holy city infinitely more glorious and incomparable to the present world tainted by sin. In the present world, we are beset by so much troubles. Even our days and seasons of happiness and comfort are often punctuated by sorrowful tears and distress. However, believers’ comfort is that God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes and there shall be no more death, sorrow or pain.

Today, Christ is preparing His bride for the city. Moreover, “we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him… And every man that hath this hope in him purifies himself, even as he is pure” (1 John 3:2,3).

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Righteous living in this world qualifies you for the new world hereafter.
