Google is the world’s leading internet search engine with an estimated value of $605b. But it was born in a garage by two men who were only looking for a “smarter search engine” in 1996. Today, from that lowly origin, their invention has become a tech giant with a global visibility with more products flowing from a colossal headquarters. How about YouTube? It began in a cubicle with two friends who sought a simpler way of sharing videos. Several years after, their small idea has turned into a $40b affair, serving up more than a billion videos a day.
Elijah’s servant did not fully discern the spiritual import of the “little cloud out of the sea, like a man’s hand” that he saw when he was asked to look for a sign to herald the end of famine in the land. He announced his find without excitement. But his master recognised heaven’s answer to his prayer and the fulfilment of God’s promise to “send rain upon the earth”.
The Lord wraps limitless blessings in His Word. It takes having faith in His declarations to receive from Him. This faith in Him must necessarily lead us to obey Him as we allow Him into our humble beginnings. From that point, we shall experience exponential growth far beyond where we started and our projections. He is the Expert who turns an embryo into a full- fledged and perfect entity that confounds human comprehension.
As we set forth into the day today and every day, let us look out for “a little cloud…like a man’s hand”. It is heaven’s sign of God’s readiness to bring upon us the long-awaited showers of blessings. It represents the Lord’s call on His people to be thoroughly immersed in the fervour of revival for the harvesting of souls as He releases the “abundance of rain” on us.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Be spiritually alert in order not to miss the “little cloud”.
