TOPIC: The Lord’s Majesty
TEXT: Psalm 93:1-5 (KJV)
93 The Lord reigneth, he is clothed with majesty; the Lord is clothed with strength, wherewith he hath girded himself: the world also is established, that it cannot be moved.
2 Thy throne is established of old: thou art from everlasting.
3 The floods have lifted up, O Lord, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their waves.
4 The Lord on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, yea, than the mighty waves of the sea.
5 Thy testimonies are very sure: holiness becometh thine house, O Lord, for ever.
KEY VERSE:

DCLM Daily Manna Monday 21 August 2023 MESSAGE
Queen Elizabeth II was the longest-serving British monarch in history, having ascended the throne in 1952 at the age of twenty-five. She was also the queen of more than a dozen other independent countries that were once under direct British colonial rule. These countries known as Commonwealth realms together have a population of about 2.4 billion people. If an earthly monarch can command so much resources and respect, how much more the heavenly Father?
The exploration of the reign and sovereignty of the heavenly Father is the subject of our reading today. The psalmist examines God’s regal majesty and clothing, which is stronger and more durable than anything on earth. Kings on earth have thrones and tenures limited in time and scope but the heavenly Father’s “throne is established of old”. God’s domain is never threatened by floods or waves. On the contrary, He is mightier than the noise of many waters. His promises are true and reliable. In His house, there must be holiness.
READ DCLM Daily Manna Sunday 20 August 2023 – Our Merciful Lord
It is important that the Christian sees God as the sovereign King in charge of the affairs of man on earth. He is not a piece of paper just for decoration or a simple name to invoke as we wish. He is the Lord. Nothing takes Him by surprise.
Knowing that God is the sovereign King in all human affairs should make us to rejoice. We should be happy that our Lord is in control and He reigns in truth and righteousness. Like children, we should call Him Father and open up our hearts and lives to Him because He will perfect everything that concerns us physically and spiritually in time and eternity.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
A simple sight view of God’s majesty will bring the proudest man to his knees.
