DCLM Daily Manna Friday 8 Nov 2024 Message
Generally, secret places are areas not accessible to intruders or uninvited people. They are places of particular interest and are sometimes declared “out of bounds” to unwanted people, especially in organisations. They can be highly protected places with maximum human security, because of the perceived top secrets, peculiar tasks carried out and the valuables stored there. Yet, such secret places of men are often broken into by audacious intruders.
The psalmist here sings of the assured security of God’s children. It is an invisible secret place, the safest, because it is “the secret place of the most High,” which he describes as “under the shadow of the Almighty.” God, wiser and more security conscious than man, has His secret place for His redeemed people who, like the Psalmist, have come to trust Him as their personal Saviour, Shield and Buckler. Therefore, as they dwell continuously in His secret place, they are kept safe and secured from all evils.

The passage further highlights God’s privileges and promises that believers who consistently dwell in His secret place enjoy throughout life. They have the assurance of deliverance from fear, pandemics and destruction; instant answers to prayers amid troubles; angelic ministrations, divine honour and the promise of long life. He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
As you embark on life’s journey, be sure that you are constantly dwelling in God’s secret place. No charm, magical ring and membership of cults, among others can preserve you from evil. Today, the door of God’s secret place is wide open to all who want to come to Him.
