TOPIC: The End Is Near

TEXT: Revelation 19:17-21
17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;

18 That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.

19 And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.

20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

21 And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.

KEY VERSE:
“And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.” – (Revelation 19:20)

DCLM Daily Manna 30 December 2021 OUTLINE

A deadly disease called COVID-19 strayed from 2019 into 2020. It covered the whole planet and threatened to destroy humanity, its economy and all its institutions. It spread wildly across the globe, forcing a ban on religious gatherings, shutdown of schools, closure of markets and prohibition of all social gatherings. The world was locked down. Because of the hardship the world experienced, many concluded that the great tribulation prophesied by Jesus Christ had come upon the earth.

But it was a faulty conclusion according to the Scriptures. The Bible says Jesus will come to take His Church to heaven before that untold suffering hits those left behind. What the world saw in 2020 was part of the predicted trouble that “must come to pass, but the end is not yet” (Matthew 24:6). The text today gives a glimpse of some of the happenings the inhabitants of the world will go through after the departure of faithful believers in the rapture. The climax will be the arrest of the beast and the false prophet who were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

The Bible reveals that close to when these unbearable tumult will swallow the world, Jesus will show mercy to His enduring disciples and take us to heaven.

Just as this year is running out in a matter of hours, so it is appointed for the current system of the world’s wickedness to run its course and end at the Lord’s own determined time. It is unhelpful to guess when this would be. It is also not good to give unscriptural interpretation to happenings around us. Instead, we should pray for the grace of God to be holy, full of selfless service in the Kingdom and be ready and rapturable when the Lord comes to take His people home.
