TOPIC: Cheer Up, Help Is On The Way!
TEXT: Acts 9:32-35(NKJV)
32. Now it came to pass, as Peter went through all [parts of the country,] that he also came down to the saints who dwelt in Lydda.
33. There he found a certain man named Aeneas, who had been bedridden eight years and was paralyzed.
34. And Peter said to him, “Aeneas, Jesus the Christ heals you. Arise and make your bed.” Then he arose immediately.
35. So all who dwelt at Lydda and Sharon saw him and turned to the Lord.
Anglican Daily Fountain Devotional 20 November 2022 STUDY
In our text today, we see Aeneas who was bedridden for eight years and was paralysed. He got healed instantly through the prayer of Peter. Imagine how this man must have felt those eight years of helplessness. This was the case with blind Bartimaeus until he encountered Jesus and was asked to cheer up (Mark 10:46-52).
Certainly, Aeneas could not have been a cheerful man during the years of his paralysis. He may not have thought help was on the way either! Observe that it was during Peter’s visit to the saints in Lydda that he found Aeneas and prayed for his healing (vv. 32-34). Notice too that his healing brought salvation to many who were living in that town (v.35).

Beloved, let us not give up when we pass through all kinds of trouble. At God’s own time when we least expect, He will visit us to take away that reproach. Be encouraged because when God attends to that affliction in your life, your testimony will bring hope to others and turn them to Christ. Cheer up! Help is on the way!
PRAYER: Father, I patiently wait for Your divine visitation which is never too late, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
