FIRE SCRIPTURE – Genesis 27:1-4
27 And it came to pass, that when Isaac was old, and his eyes were dim, so that he could not see, he called Esau his eldest son, and said unto him, My son: and he said unto him, Behold, here am I.

And he said, Behold now, I am old, I know not the day of my death:

Now therefore take, I pray thee, thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field, and take me some venison;

And make me savoury meat, such as I love, and bring it to me, that I may eat; that my soul may bless thee before I die.

MFM Daily Devotional 19 March 2025 Message

Getting enviable results in life is not cheap. Terms and conditions apply. Our salvation is indeed free, but Someone paid for it. Getting breakthroughs in this kingdom will demand some level of sacrifice from us. For Esau to get blessed by Isaac, he had to bring savoury meat. The widow of Zarephath had to release her last meal to get divine supplies. Jesus had to pass through the agony of Calvary to buy salvation for us.

You cannot just be wishing for divine supplies without having the mind to release a savoury meal. Many of us want great people’s results but want to dodge the process. We don’t want to make any sacrifices. We just want it cheap. Life does not work that way, brethren.

The sacrifices required from each of us might differ, but we must certainly pay the price for the results we aspire to get. Every great result in this kingdom did not just come on a platter of gold. They were birthed in the place of sacrifices. Your sacrifice could be fasting and prayers; for some, it could be gratitude; for others, it may be material things, but everyone must definitely bring something to the table.

What are you bringing to the table? It is a world of give and take. Your contributions matter in getting what you aspire to get. You cannot be yearning for life to dash you its a blessing without you making any contribution.

Some of us find it difficult to give to God and fellow men. Some people are so stingy that they have neglected the care of their own family. Many people have never blessed their pastors before, but they can call on the same pastors for prayers whenever they want, forgetting that pastors are humans too and have needs to take care of.

If our pastors have blessed us in spiritual things, ought we not to bless them with our material things? 1 Corinthians 9:11 attested to this. Some of us want blessings from our parents but have never deemed it fit to take care of them and send them savoury meat so that they can eat, and their souls can bless us. Beloved, we need to reorient our minds.

I ask again, what are you bringing to the table to get what you want? In marriage, career, parenting, friendships, ministry, and life generally, you must be willing to bring something and make a contribution in order to get what you want. I pray the Lord will open our eyes of understanding in Jesus’ name.
