TOPIC:  The God Who Does Not Tolerate Insults

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Hosea 1; Hosea 2; 1 Timothy 5; 1 Timothy 6

FIRE SCRIPTURE: 2 Kings 19:33-37
33 By the way that he came, by the same shall he return, and shall not come into this city, saith the Lord.

34 For I will defend this city, to save it, for mine own sake, and for my servant David’s sake.

35 And it came to pass that night, that the angel of the Lord went out, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians an hundred fourscore and five thousand: and when they arose early in the morning, behold, they were all dead corpses.

36 So Sennacherib king of Assyria departed, and went and returned, and dwelt at Nineveh.

37 And it came to pass, as he was worshipping in the house of Nisroch his god, that Adrammelech and Sharezer his sons smote him with the sword: and they escaped into the land of Armenia. And Esarhaddon his son reigned in his stead.

MEMORY VERSE

2 Kings 19:33

PROPHETIC WORD FOR TODAY: No spiritual Sennacherib will prosper in my life, in the name of Jesus.

MFM Daily Devotional 28 November 2024 Message

The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob does not tolerate insults and hates the boastful. The king of Assyria boasted against the God of Israel during the reign of King Hezekiah, believing that by his strength he had conquered many nations.

King Hezekiah tore his clothes and went into the house of the Lord when he was told of the threat of the king of Assyria. God intervened through the prophet Isaiah and destroyed King Sennacherib in his land. There is no creature that the creator cannot subdue.

King Hezekiah took the right step by crying unto the Lord who does not tolerate insults. To whom do you turn when you face a spiritual king like Sennacherib? If you follow the pattern of King Hezekiah, you will certainly receive answers to your prayers. But if you follow the way of the world, you will be frustrated. The world has no answer to human spiritual battles; only Jesus has the answer. Go to Him right now, tell Him where it hurts and see how He will turn your sorrow into joy. Today the spiritual Sennacherib in your life will be disgraced, in Jesus’ name.

The Pharaoh of Egypt was another person who was arrogant and defiant towards God until he met his Waterloo. When Jehovah said through Moses, “Let my people go that they might serve me,” Pharaoh’s reply was that he did not know Jehovah that he should let His people go. Jehovah proved His sovereignty and invincibility. After the ten plagues, the stiffnecked Pharaoh and his hosts perished in the Red Sea.

Beloved, Jehovah does not tolerate insult. Make sure you do not provoke Him to wrath!
