MFM Daily Devotional 31 October 2023 MESSAGE
Knowing God intimately should be the utmost desire of every Christian. However, knowing God should not be a one-off experience but a life-long one. The more you know God, the greater the blessings and grace that He will release into your life. Moses knew Him so deeply that He had the unique experience of talking to God face to face and mouth to mouth.
Abraham knew Him so deeply that He called him his friend and paid him a life-changing visit in Genesis 18. Enoch knew Him so deeply that He took Enoch and spared him the taste of death. Elijah knew Him so deeply that He sent a whirlwind and a chariot of fire to transport him to heaven.
MFM Daily Devotional 30 October 2023 – The Ultimate Power
Elisha knew Him so deeply that after he died, his bone still carried the unusual anointing that raised a dead soldier. Paul knew Him so deeply that he was transported to the third heaven where he saw unusual revelations.
The same Paul still yearned to know God more. Why? He knew that knowing God more had inestimable benefits. In Philippians 3:10-11, Paul said, “That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.”
However, there are hindrances to avoid in knowing God:
- Unbelief (Romans 3:12-13),
- Fear (John 4:18).
- Pride (1 Peter 5:5).
- Rebellion against authority (Romans 13:2).
- Impurity (Eph, 5:3-5).
- Idolatry (Exodus 20:4-5).
You must avoid these hindrances to position yourself to enjoy the benefits of knowing God.
WHAT ARE THESE BENEFITS?
- You will be built up (Eph. 6:10; Col. 2:6-7 and 2 Pet. 3:18).
- You will deal drastically with sin (2 Cor. 7:1; 2 Chr. 29:16-17).
- You will be greatly enriched (Col. 2:9-10; Obadiah 17; John 14:27; Acts 1:8; 2 Cor. 12:9).
- You will receive answers to prayers (1 John 3:22; 1 John 5:14- 15).
- You will delight in the Lord Himself- (Psalm 37:4.)
- You will have fruitful testimony (Mark 14:8- 9; 1 Cor. 15:58; Gal 6:9).
- You will have God’s smile upon your life (Numbers 6:24-26; Psalm 90:17; Prov. 4:18 and 10:22).
