TOPIC:  His Majesty in Our Praises

Text:  Psalm 105:1-7 (KJV)
O give thanks unto the Lord; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.

Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works.

Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the Lord.

Seek the Lord, and his strength: seek his face evermore.

Remember his marvellous works that he hath done; his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;

O ye seed of Abraham his servant, ye children of Jacob his chosen.

He is the Lord our God: his judgments are in all the earth.

KEY VERSE
“O give thanks unto the LORD; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.”
(Psalm 105:1)

DCLM Daily Manna Sunday 5 March 2023 MESSAGE

A man and his wife were disappointed when they took their wayward son to a pastor for deliverance. They expected the man of God to shake and shout himself hoarse by binding and casting out the demons in the child. But he told them to join him to praise the Lord for the condition of the lad, which had brought them to Him in acknowledgement of His power to save.

He told the couple that God would only present Himself where worship and praise prevailed. As the duo dropped their unbelief and entered the precincts of praises, help came from heaven to deliver the child.

Giving holy worship to a holy God is a recognition of the fact that He is the Giver of the good things that offer joy to us. His Salvation plan has given us ceaseless joy here on earth with the promise of unspeakable joy in heaven hereafter. Praising Him for these pleases Him and makes Him know that we are not ingrates. God inhabits the praises of His people.

The way out of the challenges of life is not to focus on them unduly. Doing that grounds one deeper into the sinking mud of despair. If we are under the clouds threatening defeat, we must not thicken the dark sky by being inconsolably moody. We must drive away the gloomy atmosphere by invoking sunshine through an outlook of joy in the promises of the faithful Lord.

God is absent in the world today because there is an absence of thanksgiving due to Him. The home, school, religious gathering, business place and the heart of the worldly man have all become the harvest points of complaints, murmuring, bitterness and other vices that are against the spirit of gratitude. If we change the narrative by praising God in all seasons, we shall enjoy more of His presence and lead victorious lives.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Praise God more to enjoy more of His presence.
