June 7, 2022 – There is Only One Truth
Sermon: 2512 – Tolerance: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.’”
Ponder This
There used to be a time, when you would preach on the inerrancy of the Word of God, the Virgin Birth, or the bodily resurrection and someone would say, “I don’t agree with that.” And you could discuss the matter and philosophize. You could take the Word of God and other sources and go back and forth trying to determine what is true and what is not true. But that’s not so today. Today you might say, “I believe in the Virgin Birth. I believe in the absolute sinless deity of the Lord Jesus Christ.
I believe in His vicarious death upon the cross.” But with our culture’s view of tolerance, you would not be argued with. They would say, “That’s wonderful. That’s your truth. Now let me tell you my truth.” And you soon realize there is no fixed standard for anybody’s truth. All truths today are considered equal. But that’s not what the Bible says, and we are called to be faithful to God’s truth.
