Joyce Meyer Daily Devotional May 1, 2022 MESSAGE
If we have a pure heart, we will be able to hear God clearly. We will see with clarity His plan for our lives. We won’t feel aimless or confused. The condition of our heart is one of the most important things to God. If the hidden man of the heart is kept in a right condition, it pleases God tremendously (see 1 Peter 3:3–4). The Bible says that we should guard our heart with all diligence, for out of it flows all the issues of life (see Proverbs 4:23).
Examine your heart, your inner attitudes, and your thoughts to see if there is anything there that God would not approve of. Do you have bitterness or resentment? Have you allowed a critical or judgmental attitude to take root? Is your heart tender or hard? Are you open to the opinions and ideas of others, or have you closed your heart? The Bible says that we have the responsibility of keeping and guarding our heart in the right condition.
The physical organ of the heart is the most important organ in the body. If it is diseased or working improperly it could mean the difference between life and death. I believe our heart attitude is also one of the most important things we should pay attention to. If we let it get filled with disease or anything that is improper, it will definitely affect the quality of our life.
Prayer Starter: Lord, I want to have a pure heart. Please reveal to me everything that is wrong in my heart. I want the condition of my inner being to be pleasing to You, amen.
