TOPIC: The Ultimate Warning
TEXT: Psalm 19:7-14
7 The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.
8 The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.
9 The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.
10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
11 Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.
12 Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.
13 Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.
14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.

DCLM Daily Manna 9 March 2022 OUTLINE
Most radio and TV stations worldwide along with newspapers give weather reports to help citizens plan their movements. These media services, done in collaboration with meteorologists, come in handy for those who heed them. Imperfect as they are, paying attention to the warning keeps one from harm during severe climatic conditions and disasters as hurricanes, earthquakes and volcanoes.
However, unlike the short-sightedness, imprecision and fallibility of man’s warning mechanisms, the Bible presents a foolproof platform on which man can stand to receive timely and timeless warnings. It is the word of God.
The psalmist’s life has been inextricably bound to the commandments of the word of his Lord, enabling him to testify that it is profitable to keep them as they have helped him to escape looming danger.
But, tragically, man thirsts more for the transitory and illusory predictions of deceivers who do not see more than what is physical. Man discards the warnings from the God who is concerned about the danger that awaits those who depart this world without Christ.
The beneficial warning we need to heed above all else concerns the imminent return of the Son of God to judge the world. We cannot find this elsewhere. The “great reward” in “keeping of them” is the readiness it builds in us. It helps us to avoid sinful distractions and keeps us focused on preaching the gospel to warn the sinner and backslider that time is short.
